Saw this on Saturday with the eldest - it was that or buy her a mobile phone :)

I enjoyed it, but now that it's over I think I'm struggling to remember the details.

I thought that Snape was handled well and a number of the other scenes from the book were as I had expected. It was nice to see a few of the things  that were only talked about in the past tense in the original. It made for some interesting choices in where to focus both attention and memory.

The only thing I was slightly dissatisfied with was the way they ended you-know-who's story. There seemed more fizzle and less bang there than I would have liked and while I enjoyed the battle scenes, too much of the imagery from the printed word is etched into my mind for me to completely accept this version.

I think I need to see it again in order for me to be completely on board - I'm obviously in denial of the end!

I know it's unnusual here but I don't have a podcast of my own.

Final movie is coming to Blu Ray next month.

Here's a trailer for a Target Exclusive 48 minute documentary called "When Harry Left Hogwarts" it's only available on the 4-disc special edition of 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2′ from Target.

If its on the disc surely its going to be available from any store? Whats so special about Target? Are they a prime store?

Dangelus

It will be an extra disc just for target stores. Walmart have done similar things in the past, these guys have got the clout and buying power to do this. On a smaller scale, think of the HMV exclusive releases we've had in the UK.

Hmmm my opinions on this is rather political so will refrain. Lol

Lol I'm with you on that one. Add freebies by all means but don't withhold content. It's not like the franchise is short of the cash!

They have to do something to drive business in their direction. I think that it makes sense because it gets people into the doors and helps with sales. It doesn't affect me one way or another because I think I've lost the need to have "it all" in recent years. I'm going to pick up the film and watch it. Maybe a few extras here and there, but I don't have the urge or desire to have every iteration or variant of a product anymore. Get the one I like and ignore the rest.

Oh it makes perfect sense for the retailer, it just humourous that a multi billion dollar franchise like Harry Potter do these deals for cash.

It also makes sense for them. For people that want it all, they will buy the various variants and the studio sells more to the same people.

It's even more humourous when some think mutli billion dollar franchises shouldn't engage in activities to be even more profitable. Heaven forbid. ;)

If I defend George Lucas's right to make money I will defend JK Rowling as well! :) I'm a cheap date that way.

Oh I whole-heartedly agree. You know, no one pitches such fits when they find one of us (Bryan) does well at the work they do for a living and have a pretty good life doing it (Bryan), own a nice house (Bryan) in a very nice community (Bryan). BUT, when we find out that someone like Lucas or JK are making money, hand over fist, doing something THEY love, we call them greedy?! What the heck? I say, if you can make a great living doing somethign you love, then DO IT. And damn anyone who complains about it.
(Bryan, love you man! :)  )
