Just got back from seeing the movie with Lynn and our older son Stephen.  Really enjoyed it.  Can't say much in the open, since it's just out.  But read on if spoilers don't bug you, but I'll try and keep it pretty general.
I really liked the pace of this first part of the final movie.  It definitely feels less rushed and more detailed than previous films when they were more pressed for time.  Not as much cut from the book.  The music and the mood felt just right.  Great seeing all of our old favorites back again for one more go.  I especially enjoyed the relationship between the main trio and how they dealt with that so far and again it followed the book well.  I thought it ended at about the right point for the first part.

P.S.  If you are concerned about having little kids see this, you might want to preview it yourself first.  It does get intense in a few places for violence and a bit of sexual situation stuff too.  If this concerns you, go see it first and then decide.
Can't wait for part two!

I thought that they did a great job with the first part. I hope that the second part is done well. I've been somewhat disappointed with some of the other films. There are parts I love and then parts I have no idea why they did the way they did. They either left out great parts or put in parts that weren't even in the book. I've read all the books and I have listened to most of then on CD. Jim Dale does an amazing job reading the books and creates the voices as he goes. If you haven't listened to them on CD, that's a definite must.

Here's looking forward to the last part of HP:TDH!

That's ever the story of films of books isn't it. Why they made th choirs they did. It's the curse of any reader with a halfway scent imagination, to have to watch someone else's envisionings on screen.

They've done well enough with this series but I'm glad they've taken the jump to two films for this one (now that I've seen the first one).

I know it's unnusual here but I don't have a podcast of my own.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 Behind the Scenes

Sorry I've been watching this over and over since yesterday non-stop :)

I'm just looking through this post and I love the Snape pic! He's my favorite of course. He's quite an actor and has played some ruthless characters. I loved his entrance in the first movie where he just looks like he's flying into the room. In the book he's written to have a mustache and beard. I guess he would look too much like the Sherriff (sp?) if he had the sinister goatee. Snape is played out a lot harsher in the book and seems more in pain in the book than in the movies. I love Alan Rickman's Snape because he's played out with more feeling than the Snape in the books. But I do love how J.K. gives closure to his character in the last book. I really hope that they do Snape justice in his last scenes. Hope they do the memories. Of course it will probably get cut but since it's the last one, it should be done well.

Deathly Hallows, Part 1 - Deleted Scene #1

Geekyfanboy

here is the first of what will be many posters for the final Harry Potter movie.

Zarabeth32

Great poster! I love the scene with Petunia. I wonder if there will be a deleted scene with Harry and Dudley saying good-bye. I loved their parting in the book. I really thought they left the Dursley's in the cold with the last movie. Guess we'll just have to wait and see.

I love the Snape poster. I so want to get that! Love Alan Rickman. They better do his last scene justice!

Hey Rico! Can you put some Harry Potter emoticons up?  ;D
