Well, Trek got a few nominations, none of the big ones though.

Did you really think it would, Joe?

Nope. But a guy can dream can't he?

To bad avatar was not this year, D9 would win so many of Avatar's awards

Oh, I don't know about that. D9 did a great job on what they did, but AVATAR was a game changer.

Yes, I thought it deserved more too.  With 10 Best Picture nominations, in my view it should have been in that group.  But I kind of gave up on the Oscars a long time ago.  They seldom reflect what I enjoy the most.  I'd even be happy if Avatar wins for Best Picture, but I really don't think it will.  Oh well.

Well without Avatar, D9 would get visual effects, maybe editing. How is Wikus not getting a best actor?

I think the biggest snub.. even more then Star Trek for best picture is Zoe Saldana (Neytiri) from Avatar.. she was my favorite part of that movie. Her acting was brilliant and I hate that the Academy folks can see past the CG.

x2, about Zoe, not about Star Trek. :)

Although I would like to take the geek-road - I have to cast my personal vote for 'Precious'.  That one had me in tears a few places in the movie.
Kenny you are right about Zoe being dissed.
