Yeah, the Pre is a sweet phone.  I wish they had opened it up to different service providers.  I had an older Palm Treo 650 - and was very happy with it for years.  The Pre is a quantum leap above the Treo.

Oddly enough call quality is one of the plusses of the iPhone for me but then I was coming from a Windows smartphone at that point that was absolutely attrocious. For me it's as good as a 'normal' phone but then if I use 100 minutes a month that's a lot.

The whole dropped/missed call thing has always mystified me since I've never experienced it.

I'm sure proper phones are better overall for telephony but I'm a PDA nut and will probably always have one in some shape. The market has pushed PDAs into phones so for the moment I have an Apple one because it at least has a usable phone part.

I know it's unnusual here but I don't have a podcast of my own.

Well I'm a bloke and blokes don't do talking on phones. We just say pub, 6pm, Saturday done. Lol

What is that?  I was eating some quiche, and didn't hear what you said?  :)

I personally haven't had any issues with call quality...now syncing my phone with iTunes and Windows 7...that's a different story. Half the time it tells me that I have a new phone and I need to restore from backup!

Ouch! What do you do then?

I used think I had no call drops because I'd disabled 3G (useless reception at work) but these days I leave it on and still don't have a problem...other than £35 per month :)

Nothing, I close and reopen itunes and it syncs properly...Must be an iTunes 9/Windows 7 thing.

I'd heard Windows 7 has broken something.

What are the price plans for iPhone like? I think we have £30, £35, £45 and £75 or something like that. Now other carriers have it that may change though.

I am paying ~ $75 US a month for unlimited data, and a reasonably generous voice & text plan (i get my pages from work sent as text messages).  I do get a slight discount from the provider (AT&T) - which is given to employees at my company.

OK. I'm on the £35 which is unlimited data (all O2 iPhone plans are) 600 minutes and 500 texts. Waaaay more than I could ever use (receiving text messages is free in the UK where they seem to cost money in the US).

Do you have the most recent update from ITunes?
