Ok I know I am way behind with this, but I just watch the finale to season 1 of Doctor Who and I am confused, would love if anyone can explain to me what happened. I still don't know what is Bad Wolf and who was leaving that message everywhere.

Rico

You won't know the final answers to Bad Wolf for awhile.  It is sort of a setup for future episodes and seasons.

SPOCKFAN

OH OK, thanks Rico. Thought i was missing something

Geekyfanboy

Really.. I understood it as Rose being Bad Wolf

Rose Tyler is Bad Wolf.. she says it in the last episode of the season.

" I am the Bad Wolf. I create myself. I take the words. I scatter them ... in time, and space. A message to lead myself here. "

It's one of my all time favorite sci fi scenes.

Rose Conquers the Daleks

Ahh, yes, cool scene.  Didn't the term come up in other later episodes too as well as in "Torchwood?"

SPOCKFAN

Yeah but that is what confused me. Rose didn't know what the Bad wolf was, and how was she scattering the message through the universe?

Yep it comes up again in Dr. Who and Torchwood.. but it always invovled Rose.

Here is my understanding... Bad Wolf is the combination of Rose Tyler and the TARDIS Vortex. It created it self by taking the words and scattering it through time and space (which is what the TARDIS does)  to ensure that it would come to be. Rose had no idea what it meant as she had not done it yet when she started to see Bad Wolf everywhere. Time is not linear in the Who verse. Rose/Vortex actions effected the past and future to create itself in the present.

SPOCKFAN

Ahhhh... very nice explanation. Thanks. That did not hit me. I was stuck thinking Linear

Also very glad that Capt Jack did not die. That guy is great! I LOVE Cpt. Jack

I loved that scene too. I just finished Series 2, picking up 3 from the library this weekend, it's on hold for me.
