Nice work Meds and Vartok!

And of course I laughed and smiled when Patrick interrupted your opening with "I am not a Number!"  Always enjoy your in depth acting cast background, and behind the scenes work that you put into all of your TV reviews, Geeks love intimate knowledge of their shows.  And you never disappoint. :metallica:

And of course Vartok can always be trusted to scour the net and garage sales for music treasures and information on their creators.  Thank you, for your hard work. :thumbsup

And personally I think the PM version of the Prisoner theme works great for the opening and end credits of the show, but I would have loved the 'Alternate Theme' as the theme for 'the Village'.  I think it would have fit nicely, and would make a interesting juxtaposition to the more frantic opening and closing music.

Now I need to find this show on DVD so I can reacquaint myself with it,... it has been 20 years since I have seen it.

Thanks for letting me have a bash at sitting in the big chair for one week. Hope eveyone enjoys it. :)

I know I sent you guys both an email, but I wanted to say it again on the boards. Well done! I had no idea what the Prisoner was all about but now I want to check it out thanks to you Meds. Very informative. :)

I always thought Vartok was a music teacher or something...his contributions are always so detailed and well informed. Turns out he says he played the trumpet in Jr. High and that's the extent of his music skills. I think you add a lot to the shows with your segments, even if you did just play the trumpet as a youngling. :)

Thank you so much for all your kind words it was great fun to do and i could have gone on for about another twenty minutes. Vartok did a great job he spent over six hours compiling his section and he really did polish the episode off. i'm passionate about the Prisoner and it was a pleasure to talk about it. thanks again Rico for the opportunity to geek out about it :)

Thanks Hawkeye Medsand Vartok for another excellent podcast.  I haven't watched The Prisoner in twenty or more years.  At that point in time, I couldn't really get into to it.  After listening to your podcast, I feel the need to pick up a copy of The Prisoner and give it another chance.  I really enjoyed Vartok's music section.  I think I'm the only American that recognized The Mouse on the Moon theme.  Once again, great podcast!

If anyone is interested in knowing more about The Prisoner then head to a great free fan based web site called the un mutual website. They helped me design my own Prisoner jacket.

There is something just very cool about the music in this series and other ones of this era.  I think I've mentioned this before, but TV background music used to be a lot bigger - more dramatic.  It seems to be coming back on certain shows (especially JJ's stuff like Alias, LOST, Fringe, etc.).  And I'm happy to see that.  All my favorite shows have almost always had great background music.

Meds

I have 6 cd's of the Prisoner. If anyone would like some great background tracks i'm more than happy to convert them to mp3 and email some.

Rico

OHHH - I'd love to get a sample of some those tracks!  Like an extended theme music sequence or whatever you think is good Meds.

Meds

Ok mate. Give me a few days and i'll get them to you.
