Cadet Ric Santiago reporting for duty!
« on: November 23, 2005, 07:49:04 AM »
Hello, gentlemen (and any ladies)!

My name is Ricardo Santiago, born and living in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. I’m 49 years old, an electronics engineer that has been working with IT for 26 years. Currently, I am a business consultant for the Telecom industry.

My off-work interests are tennis, scuba diving, photography (nowadays more into digital handling and artwork) and reading/listening to Sci-Fi (of course).

My favorite series are ST TNG, Enterprise, ST TOS. Not much a fan of Star Wars or X-Files.

I never collected collectibles but I did assemble and carefully painted some Revell and similar models of ships (back when I was 20 – 30 years old) and I have them proudly displayed on a shelf at home. I would never wear a ST costume to go to a ST convention or to go to the movies but I would to go to a costume party. And I am planning to go back to Vegas when I have the next chance, since when I went (twice around 1995) there wasn’t already the Trek experience at MGM Grand. [I wrote this paragraph to give you data to gauge me on a “fanactiness” scale  ;) ].

In Brazil, not all seasons of the series are acquired by the cable channels, so the last season of Enterprise (4th), the last (7th) of TNG, seasons 4 to 7 of DS9 and seasons 6 and 7 of Voyager were never viewed (except if someone imported the DVD collections from US).
All the cinema movies were shown here.

Ok, that is that for now. If anyone has any curiosity, just ask!

Remember to keep and value the IDIC ! (Who doesn’t know what that means ?!?!?)

Welcome Ricardo!  I have enjoyed your emails about my Podcast too!  Glad to see you on the forum.  Are you guys able to order overseas DVD's and get them shipped to you?  Not sure if there is a format issue or not there.  It's too bad some countries haven't had a chance to see all these great shows and movies.  Either way, happy to see you here.  :)
