Les Miserable "I Dreamed a Dream" it seems so appropriate for her.

I wholeheartedly agree! I'm an emotional person and I had to bite my lip to keep from tearing up when I watched.

Yeah, I always think of the woman at the well passage when I hear that song.

My In-Laws have been to see Les Mis several times at the West End. I would dearly love to go sometime but It's so expensive these days. Listening to Miss Boyle I did tear up, can you imagine what it would do to me if I saw it on the Stage? Man, I'd be a total wreck. ;D

Hey Tim, i went and saw spamalot at the west end and we stayed away from the ticket booths (which always say they get you the cheaper tickets) and went direct to the theatre for a matinee show and because we went on the day we got tickets three rows from the front in the centre for twenty quid a ticket. A bargain.

When I first saw the show, I later realized how much it paralleled the new testament (Bring Him Home, One Day More, I dreamed a dream, pride vs humility, etc).  A good option if you're interested.  There is a 10th anniversary DVD with the original  London cast.

Absolutely AMAZING.  Simon was ready to give her the gong...then she blew everyone away.   Hawkeye, do you watch this show?

Trekkygeek

Tonight is the first of the Semi-Final shows and they air live. Susan Boyle will be performing in the first show, I wonder what she'll produce tonight?

I've seen the show but out of principle i stay away. I can't stand this kind of cheap rubbish. Yes it's good to see the likes of Susan Boyle get some recognition but really it's just as bad as the xfactor, pop idol, and the countless other 'lets break peoples hearts and make them look like idiots' tv shows. As i said on my podcast cheap tv is not good tv.

Trekkygeek

Oh Simon, come come come now. Calm down dear, it's just entertainment. It may not be terribly demanding but it is fun, and as for breaking peoples hearts, well they should know the drill by now.
Come on you big loveable Brummie guy you, give us a smile and wink? It's really all right you know.  :D

Oh alright just for you ;-). I'm a guilty as the next person i watch the ones who really are bad, the same with the xfactor, you can't beat seeing someone who looks like they've been let out of the asylum for the afternoon try to sing something that doesn't involve eating light bulbs. I just miss old style sunday evening tv and would like to see maybe a good variety show again with decent stars. Oh those were the days lol.

I'm with Meds on this one. They are entertaining to a point but I'm afraid the only winner at the end is good old Simon Cowell...

I would have to disagree with you on that one Dan. Reality TV is what keeps me employed and I watch my fair share of "challenged" kind of shows, Survivor, Amazing Race and Big Brother. But these singing/performing show not only profit for Simon Cowell. But for those people who are talented beyond belief but just don't have an outlet or opportunity to shine. There are a lot of talented people in this world who just need a break.. and these kinds of shows give it to them... and that makes me happy. Doesn't mean I have to watch them or particularly like them but I'm glad they are around for those who need them.
