Just a note to Darmok:  Darmok may be my very favorite episode of all Trek episodes ever made from all generations... and if I'm forgetting a better one, I can't think of it.  :)

(Woops.  I guess that last statement is redundant.)

It was one of my favorites too Darrell

Great episode Rico. It reminded me why I had this on again off again disdain for Riker. He was handsome and smart but such an arrogant, selfish jerk sometimes. I totally identified with Troi in that episode, especially after Thomas did the EXACT same thing Will did in the end. I'm glad Riker finally wised up and married her, otherwise I'd probably still hate him.  :D

It just occurred to me that David Locke (Sevryll's husband) is a lot like Riker.  Job before family. Hummmm.

You mean that wasn't a deliberate similarity?

Good job on the podcast Rico. I'd more or less forgotten this episode but loved it when I saw it. Having a full commentary really bought it back to me. I must have seen it more than once since o can still viaualise it from the sound track.

An interesting comment on the plan to ditch Riker in favour of Riker. That may have turned the show upside down just a little bit and would have made for an interesting change. I almost regret we never got to see it.

I know it's unnusual here but I don't have a podcast of my own.

Definitely at the top of my favorites list. Cool to find someone else who values it highly. Love the meaning within meaning aspect of it.

Dangelus

A favourite episode of mine.

It sets up a story full of character development, exploring their history through the plot device of technology. A classic Star Trek story device. Brilliant.
