I'm sure we will eventually see TNG being remastered.

I am a patient man!

I think I read somewhere that because of how TNG was filmed it would be unlikely that it would ever be remastered.

How was it filmed? Cheap video instead of quality film? I hope not...

I found TNG early Season One episodes on WNG I believe, a HD channel I have on Dish.

TNG was shot on 35MM film.. first time they did that with a TV series.. that's why it cost a million dollars an episode to make.

Dangelus

So it could definitely be remastered then.  ;D

Actually Kenny this is what I read at TrekToday:

Unlike the original series, which was produced entirely on film, Next Gen's visual effects were created on video, which makes them more difficult to enhance for high definition television and DVD.

So it wasn't the film itself but the effects, which means all the visual effects would have to be redone and for seven seasons I think that would get quite expensive. The last I heard was that it was not going forward but that could change.
