Robert Llewellyn has been on Twitter talking about some Red Dwarf Specials they are making which will hopefully lead to a new series!  ;D

Anybody heard anything about this? He says they will be broadcast on 'Dave' in the UK around Easter time and then a DVD release later in the year...

The fact they're being broadcast on 'Dave' makes me a bit cautious, all that springs to mind about this channel is endless re-runs of Top Gear (we watch it a lot at work). 'Red Dwarf' was very hit and miss in the later series's so I hope whatever they do put together is more inspired by the great early episodes.
This question has baffled mankind for all eternity... why don't sheep shrink in the rain?

Well i'm doing a waffle on podcast on red dwarf and i'm excited about the new dwarf. I've been reading about this since october and i beleive it's one special episode and two documentary episodes. It was only series 7 that i thought lacked quality mainly because chris left. It's 21 years old next month.

Man!!!  I loved Red Dwarf!!!  I want more....I want more!!!  Just as long as it is not that 'Red Dwarf Usa' junk.  Grrrrrrr!

Long live Rob Grant and Doug Naylor.

I'm going to talk a little bit about Red Dwarf USA but not a lot ha ha. Got to love the boys from the Dwarf..............

I haven't the show in years. I wouldn't mind seeing a Red Dwarf movie.

That was going to happen about three years ago. I met Chris Barrie and asked him about it and he said everyone was up for it. At one point it was going to be made in Australia to save money but alas that deal didn't come about.

It is going to be interesting to see what they do with it - especially since it is back on Earth!  Unfortunately Norman Lovett is not going to be in it, apparently not enough money in the budget to afford him.

Feathers

Norman Lovett made the first series for me.

I watched the rest but it was never quite the same as in the very beginning.

Season 7 did go down hill and even season 8 never really picked it up for me. Lovett might have been back, but so was everyone else and that didn't work to my mind.

I know it's unnusual here but I don't have a podcast of my own.

You know i've been going through all 8 series in preparation for this sunday recording and year series 7 is a bit off, i actually really like series 8. It's out till you go through them all you realise that the gems are series 4, 5 and 6 they were just brilliant. I see they have been filming on the set of Coronation street now that's just wrong.

I hope this doesn't mean we'll be getting a few dodgy cameos... >:(

I agree, season 8 is actually very good - some outstanding moments. Season 7 is by far the weakest of the lot.

Rico

I've only ever have seen bits and pieces of this series.  Had no idea it had been around for that many seasons.

Dangelus

I don't think I ever seriously watched season 8. I think 7 had put me off by then...
