EXACTLY.  I've lived in Kentucky for the past 3 years, but I still consider myself a Texan.  I try to explain it to my friends here in Louisville - Texas is like a country unto itself.  Being born there gives you Texan citizenship.  And a lucky few can eventually become naturalized Texas citizens.  ;)

Not to derail the "welcome aboard" too much...Welcome again Tyler. :)  Bite size history lesson: Texas was an in dependant nation (called the Republic Of Texas) before it joined the U.S.A. in 1845 as a state. I am a direct descendant of a signer of the Texas Declaration of Independence (from Mexico), and the Texas Constitution. Also had two ancestors fight and die at the Alamo. They were twin brothers and were played by two actors who made brief appearances in the John Wayne movie, The Alamo. They were Tennessee  Volunteers who came over with Davey Crockett. OK...History lesson over. :D
