42 Years ago today Star Trek aired on NBC

:happybday :happybday :happybday :happybday :happybday :happybday :happybday

Who would have thought this small little TV show that ran only a few seasons would spawn this huge mega cult following with 10 movies and five spin off series along with many, many fan films, books, actions figures, comic book and so much more.

Happy Birthday Star Trek.. My life would be very different without you in it. Thanks for all the great time.

I have to agree. Life would be much, much different without Trek.

Happy Birthday.

"Fascinating!"

That is Roddenberry with Jeffery Hunter?  I never would have guessed.  I guess I never saw a picture of him that was taken before the 80s.

Andre Norton does it better than J.K.Rowling

All I can say is, I WAS there watching on my family's 19" black and white TV mesmerized!

My mom kept calling me to finish my homework. I was a freshmen in Highschool and I just kept yelling back to her. Mom this is something I really need to see!

Being the great mom she was, she sat next to me and watched also. The first thing she said, being nice to her son "WOW what a ship". She then called in my dad and my two brothers and we all watched that first episode. I think it was with "Nancy" the salt sucker!

Later my science teacher in school would assign us to watch Star Trek for our homework and he would spend 5 mins of the class the next day reviewing some of the science covered in the previous nights show, if any. No kidding, that really did happen!

Happy Birthday to the best thing I EVER saw on TV. In my heart forever!

Wow, where'd the time go?  I remember fighting my parents to let me watch it.  The year was 1969.  The episode was The Tholian Web.
