Really liking this more and more now after seeing this latest trailer.  Here's a streaming version that I saved in case the trailer disappears.

That looks awesome. Another marvel movie that I can't miss.

I really liked the first X-Men movie and the thought the others were pretty good. I have zero vested time with the comics, so I know the X-Men only from the films. What I have a problem with with this is it seems like a contemporary X-Men story in terms of some of their technology but I am supposed to believe this is the early 1960's? It just looks wrong.

Funny I didn't think of that till you mentioned it. I agree with that, but I reckon it is scifi so maybe they could do that and get away with it... maybe...

I hear where you guys are coming from, but I think the tech fits. In both the films and the comics, the X-Men have had access to cutting edge technology.  And the submarines, ships, and the X-Jet are all representative of technology that was around in the 60s in real life.  For example, the Jet is modeled on the SR 71 Blackbird, which was developed in the early 60's and was in service from '64 to 1998.

Here's the second official trailer.. more new scenes.. still looks good to me

X-Men: First Class (2011) Official Trailer 2 HD

Awesome trailer!  It looks like we'll have Charles, Havok (Cyclop's older brother), Banshee, Magneto, Emma, Mystique, and Beast, as well as pre-teen Cyclops & Jean.  This could be a really cool line-up. I might be mistaken, but I thought I saw sings of Nightcrawler also.  That part seems to be the biggest divergence from both the comics and the previous films, but I'm sure the writers can figure out a plausible way to fit him in.

A little side-note:  One of the movie poster images looks a lot like one of the more famous X men comic panels:

Possibly a coincidence, but I like it.  It somehow lends the film a little more Geek-Cred, in my book.

Yeah I was ok with the SR-71 as it is contemporary to the era. I don't know, the kids themselves seem too modern....

Seriously, dude! :)

Banshee was always on of my least favorite X-Men.  Seeing the clips from the film is making me seriously reconsider my opinion.  :)

I think you'll find it's Azazel. If I remember right, he was Nightcrawler's father in the comics.

This film is just looking better and better. Is Marvel Studios pretty well involved with this? Cause after the Wolverine film I haven't been sure, but obviously Marvel Studios have not failed to disappoint yet. Anyhow I'm as excited for this now.
