As most of you know I enjoy most of the movies I see - some more than others.  It's rare that I really, really hate a movie.  Well, this week I watched one that's at the top of my list of movies to avoid at all costs.  The recent movie, "The Mist" based on a Stephen King story.  I had heard fairly good things about it - well they were wrong.  This movie starts off ok but goes bad quickly.  The characters do some really dumb things and the ending ----  maybe one of the most awful endings I have ever seen.  So if you haven't watched this here's Rico's warning.  Stay away from it.  Stay far away!    :ohmy

I've found that the more Stephen King based movies they make, the worse they tend to get.

Rico

Yeah - it's definitely hit or miss.  I just really wanted to warn people off this one.

Never even heard of this movie before now, but hey, I'll save $7.00 to avoid a bad movie.

Thanks Rico

Well now, I have to see it.

I really enjoyed the movie.  But it doesn't suprise me to hear people hate it because most of the movies I love are sharply hated.

The ending is different.  Most movies get tied up with a bow and the lights come up and everyone goes home.  This one sticks with you for a few days.  It felt to me like an Outer Limits episode (90s).

I wouldn't say everyone should avoid the film but I wouldn't watch it with small kids, or people who are sensitive and it could disturb.

Rico

Hey Alan - nice to see a new face!  Welcome!

Yeah - obviously the movie wasn't for me but I'm glad someone enjoyed it.

Blackride

I have to be honest, I have no desire to see it and Rico is usually easier on movies then I am, so now I think I will definitely stay away :)
Ripley: Ash. Any suggestions from you or Mother?
Ash: No, we're still collating.
Ripley: [Laughing in disbelief] You're what? You're still collating? I find that hard to believe.

Norbit tops my list of movies never to see again.  Why Must Eddie Murphy put out such things?  He was so good in the 80s.

My wife says she never wants to watch Napoleon Dynamite again.. but man, it just gets better and better each time.  Geez.

One of my buddies loved Napoleon Dynamite so much he parodied it several times. I helped, I always played Kip.

It was a funny movie though and good for as low of budget it had. I did enjoy it myself.

did you stay home and eat all the frikin chips?

Wow Rick, I think our wives might be distantly related.  My honey-bunny has absolutely NO use for this movie.  "It is one of the dumbest movies I have ever seen" I believe were her exact words.  I, on the other hand, laugh harder every time I see it.....which is obviously when the wife is not around.
