Well, I took the plunge.  Got a brand new, 27 inch Dell widescreen monitor.  What a beauty.  Moving all my stuff around again for it.  Can't wait to try it out in Warcraft and other games more.  Here are a couple quick pictures.  The other Dell on the left is a 24 inch - for scale.

And I thought my 22" monitor was big. That monitor is huge. Nice one Rico. You should play Warcraft, Mass Effect and a nice FPS.

LOL!

My other Dell 24" I've had about 3 years and it's still great.  But I didn't have a good flat panel for my second machine, so I needed another anyway.  So I decided to go for the 27" for my new primary and the 24" becomes my secondary.  It's really bright.  I have to tweak that down a bit and adjust how close I sit to it.  But it is gorgeous and very well made.  Dell monitors are just fantastic!

I agree. The only issue I have with my 20" Dell widescreen (it's the same generation as your 24" with the silver "D" base) is that it could stand to be a little brighter at times. However, I sit with my monitor backing on a 9th floor window which doesn't help.

Nice buy Rico!

Rico

This new one is almost blindingly bright.  I think it could give you a tan.

1920 x 1200 I take it?

Yes.  It's a very sweet size for a monitor.  30" ones seem kind of too big and you typically need a pretty high end video card to drive one of those.  I have a good video card, but with this monitor it can be used for pretty much any PC.

Very nice Rico.  My 17in Laptop cries in front of your awesome screen.  :)

Sweet!  Do you have a TV-tuner on your PC that you can use with the new LCD?  Now I have to run out (in my dreams) and get dual 30" LCD's to 'keep up with the Joneses'.    :)

If it's anything like my 20" Dell (which I'm sureit is) it has DVI, VGA, composite and possibly even component inputs. I have a digital cable box plugged into my 20" and the audio going into the line in of the sound card. I can run pciture in picture or picture by picture on my screen if I so desire.

Its not the size that counts it's what you do with it ha ha ha Grat bit of kit Rico, we've got to upgrade everything here but the house we have our eyes on has a room big enough for my office/studio and then i plan to geek out on a whole new computer. Though saying that could well be heading down the mac pathway.
