za9000's LCARS-like touch panel isn't quite ready to hop aboard any spacecraft, but it sure seems to do a fine job of controlling his home. This doesn't really surprise or amaze me too much.  What really surprises me is how long it took for someone to do this.  I mean, we've had touch-screen technology for a long time.  But kudos to that person.

Actually it has been done by others.  This is just another example.  One guy in England did his whole apartment up like this.

Awesome! I want one too. The screen saver looks like the one I have on my Mac. I wonder if they could scroll that list like you can scroll lists on the iPhone?
