Thought it would be fun to start this topic - specifically related to computers

I just bought an external hard-drive for backups (Passport).  Nice and compact.  DARN THING WAS FORMATTED FAT32 !!!  I mean, come on !!

Was it a used drive? I've bought a lot of external hard drives and they don't come pre-formatted.

Typically that's for compatibility Mark.  Not everyone has moved to NTFS.

It's easier to scrape FAT32 drives also :)
