Good Enterprise episode this week.
For the first Enterprise missions, Scott Bakula was a good choice as a "Let's get it done" Captain.
Physically he is imposing at 6 feet tall - sorry Kirk and Picard

Being a fan of Quantum Leap, I had read how between camera calls, Scott would be out of his trailer horsing around with the production crew and keeping everyone in a good mood.
Maybe having a sense of fun and being a nice guy showed in his portrayal of Archer too.

Before becoming an actor, he sang with the St. Louis Symphony. He also studied Law at the University of Kansas.

I also liked the fact that the NX-01 was a little fragile for the dangers they came across, it would have been a great story arch to see the development of defensive shields.

Rico

Yep - good points.  I know there are some that don't like Bakula or Archer but I think he did a great job in the role.  Loved him in "Quantum Leap" too.

Hey Rico,

Once again a great podcast. Thanks again for including my stuff. You asked if there where any noticeable differences in the quality of the podcast. Though all your clips sounded fine, when I listened closely to your voice track I noticed some, I guess you can call it, sampling noise or you could hear the samples so your voice sounded rather digital. Again you would have to be listening closely, but it was noticeable to me. Did not seem to effect being able to understand you at all. More of a quality of sound of your voice. You have such a great speaking voice would figure you're shooting for the clarity of your previous shows. Maybe a slightly higher sampling rate? Let's see if anyone else heard it.

You're the bomb, look forward to next week.

Rico I've said it before and I'll say it again, every full commentary you do gets better then the one before. A lot more talking this time, good levels between you and the episode and you didn't get lost in watching the show.

Congrats on the hot new rig as well.

Great job!

Rico

Thanks guys.  I do think the audio needs more tweaking with the new PC, etc.  I was so anxious and excited to try it all out I didn't test it a huge amount before I dove in on the podcast.  I will work to optimize it over the next week.

P.S.  Billybob...  thanks for the compliments.  I try to bring something new each week in and share with all of you while I do the commentary.  Glad to see it's working.

Cool Podcast Rico, makes me want to go back and watch that Episode again. I liked how you talked about some other things past the episode as well, but sort of related to the episode. Reminded me a lot of the Commentaries they do on DVD's at times, so I found this one a lot of fun. I agreed with Ricks comments as well, and feel the same way he does, that it was good episode, but they do so many of those types, that you have to rate a bit lower then others. The sound was pretty good, a little bit of interference at the end of your speaking from time to time, but like you said, a bit of tweaking and it will clear it up.

Great podcast as always.  This is one of the few Enterprise episodes that I haven't seen yet; I'm going to have to check it out.

Great podcast as always Rico. I liked this episode too... Archer is right up there with Picard for me. But I've always been a fan of Scott Bakula. I thought Archer was a more down to Earth, approachable captain.
