I always thought this episode was funny, though fairly sexist... I like the points  you made about the way women are treated on the show because of the network big wigs. Thank goodness for the liberation of TNG. :D

And thanks for the Anomaly Podcast plug! It has pushed lots traffic to our web site in recent days. :)

Thanks for a fun show Rico!

McCoy:
Are you wearing some unusual kind of parfume or something radioactive my dear?
What a great line!

Lightning only strikes once and TOS is one of a kind.
I enjoy the original series best because -
The crew of Next Gen and the rest needed to own and control their situation - Kirk and crew improvised and rolled with the punches and I think had more fun in the process.
Maybe Starfleet wasn't breathing down their necks back then.

P.S.
Moyers - You guys are great!

Great Podcast Rico!  What a nice walk I had listening to everything.

The Picardo number was great, cool news, the review was super duper, and I really enjoyed hearing Hawkeyemeds do the Dr. Who review!  Hey that rhymed.  :)

Here are the lyrics and a link to the song "The Enterprise-Mudds Women"

http://www.christrocks.com/forum/theenterprise.mp3

Here's the story of a half whit com man
Who was using up three very lovely girls
All of them looked really young, like super models
All three were popping pills

Here's the story of a star fleet vessel
That was helmed by a really cool guy name Kirk
They met Harcore Harry Fentom Mudd
But he was quite a jerk!

Till the one day when the ladies batted  lashes
and Kirk he saw through Harry's little lies
He'd give the girls away to some miners
Jail Harry and fly the Enterprise
The Enterprise, the Enterprise
That's the ship they like to call the Enterprise

Cool Podcast Rico, fun episode, you sure can tell how things have changed from when it was made to today. Great song Rick, you really have a great talent for those, and very well produced. Great review Hawkeyemeds, you did a great job.

Really enjoyed this weeks podcast and Rick, another great song. Man you should do a CD and sell it on the forums. I'd be up for having one especially if it had the BSG rag tag song on. Thanks for putting my review of the Tardis up Rico, though i feel sorry for all the listeners who had to put up with my dreadful tones twice in one podcast ;) Great episode review Rico, can't wait for next weeks.

Thanks all.  I really liked how the last few podcasts have come together.  It really rounds them out to have contributions from all of you guys too.  Keep them coming!

I finally found time to listen to the latest podcast; it was great!  I enjoyed the listener contributions-- Rick, you ought to think about putting out a sci-fi parody compilation album!  Great stuff!  Meds, great job on your Tardis review; it caused me to immediately do a search on ebay and BBTS.  I think I found the Tardis you spoke about, they listed it as the "Flight control Tardis".  Looks pretty cool; I feel a sudden need to add Dr. Who collectibles to my sci-fi collection.  I just need to get caught up on the last 3 seasons to find out all that is going on!

Nice pick on the episode that was the subject of the podcast, Rico; when I was a kid, my dad and I always got a kick out of the Mudd episodes.  I had forgotten how much fun this particular episode was-- it was cool to see Nimoy and the writers discovering the Spock character and finding out what did and didn't work for him.  This episode kind of reminds me of the cage in that respect; early Spock did seem to have a propensity to smile and display emotion, didn't he?

I even like the music used in the score of this Trek episode; it felt very "60's".  For lack of a better word, I guess I'd call the style "Gentleman's Club Swanky".

All in all, it was a great review of a great episode.  Looking forward to the next one!

Thanks Eric, if you nip to the podcast notes for this episode you will see pics of my Tardis. It is called Flight Tardis and you can pick one up from Amazon.com

It's mad it's meant to be a toy but no way my friend, mine will not be played with, well maybe i do pick it up and spin it around.
Hope you get one.
