At first look this "moovie" appears to be just one long running hillbilly gag. You soon realize the story and performances are well thought out and salute every TOS story device from space battles to hailing the ship for beam up.
By not being a carbon copy of the original, it doesn't fall short of expectations and allows you to have fun with this alternate universe trek.

Created in '89 the effects are low tech and match the low budget that makes this film all the more appealing.
