Any editors know how to do the star wars light saber effect?

A lot of you guys were impressive in the videocast.  I have always wondered how they were doing the light saber in the fanfilms I see online.

I have final cut express hd.  Any ideas?

WOW, that is cool software Rico.  But the price of $150....yikes.  I guess you get what you pay for though, which is very very nice editing software.
