I miss Eureka.

Any clue as to when "later this year" might be?

I love this show.  Throw a bunch of geniuses into a small town in the middle of nowhere and then give them unlimited funds (more or less).  And then watch the new ideas and chaos build upon each other.   Brilliant stuff!!!

The last I read was that it will be back in Spring or Summer of 2009 with only 10 more episodes.

Ferguson Talks about "Eureka" Season 3.5
April 2, 2009 by Michael Hickerson   || Category: TV News

http://www.sliceofscifi.com/2009/04/02/ferguson-talks-about-eureka-season-35/

One of the more frequent questions we get asked here at Slice of SciFi is "When is "Eureka" coming back"?

Well, we've got some good news for you. SciFi has confirmed that the popular series will be back in July for the second half of its third season. Unfortunately, we can't give you a specific date for the series' return, but as soon as we have it we'll let you know.

But before that, we do have some news about what you expect to see when the series finally returns. Fans may recall that last time we checked in on things in "Eureka," Sheriff Jack Carter has been removed from his office, Nathan Stark had sacrficed himself to save the town and his wife, Allison Blake has just discovered she was pregnant.

Actor Colin Ferguson said fans can expect the second half of the season to pick up right where things left off last summer.

"So that picks up right after there, where Salli is pregnant through the whole season," Ferguson told SciFi Wire. "One of Joe [Morton's] ... I keep using the actors' names ... One of Joe's long-lost loves comes back. My character has a love interest all the way through. And then Jordan [Hinson], my daughter, deals with "Is she going to go to college and leave Eureka or is she going to stay?" So all that stuff gets resolved."

Ferguson says that while the show hasn't been picked up for a fourth season, he does feel confident it will be back.

"It's definitely in the cards," he said. "They tell us we were not picked up, but they say, "You're coming back." So we're coming back, although we may go on a prolonged hiatus. We may not shoot for another 11 months, potentially, sort of to get us back onto a summer schedule. We shot through winter last year. In fact, we just wrapped. And that wasn't as fun as shooting in the middle of summer. So I think they're going to move us back to summer."

Ferguson's confidence wasn't always there in regards to the show. He cited examples of the network not being sure about the pilot and the cast filming scenes both as a comedy and a drama.

" I think SCI FI, in some ways, or this particular administration, has sort of cut their teeth a little bit on Eureka, sort of learning what they wanted a more mainstream show to be," Ferguson said. "And so that's been an amazing thing to be a part of, because we all feel very close as we all figured out where we wanted it to go, and at the same time we've definitely had some rough patches. So, was I confident out of the gate? No. I hoped that it would go, and I'm most pleased that what we did was validated and that it's still on the air. That's a nice feeling."

"Eureka" returns in July on SciFi.

So, this may have been discussed here before, but, I'm new  :P  I loved the series Eureka on SciFi.  The first two seasons were very entertaining, the third was good, but the hour long info-mercial for Degree deoderant got a bit annoying.  Just wondering, what happened?  I thought they were coming back, but it's MIA... :jawdrop

"Eureka" Renewed

August 28, 2009 by Michael Hickerson

SyFy has given the green light for a fourth season of the quirky little town "Eureka."

The network picked up the option for a fourth season of 22 episodes, according to SciFi Wire.  The current season was originally picked up for 21, but was cut back to 18 due to last year's writer's strike.  The final episode of the third season airs tonight.

Actress Erica Cerra, who plays Deputy Jo Lupo,  was happy that the show will continue for a fourth year.

"We were thrilled, and more so that it's 22 episodes," Cerra said. "Last year they made an attempt to do 21, I believe it was, and we got cut down to 18 because of the writers' strike. So we're thrilled, and the way we found out was so much fun, getting word before the end of the season. You're usually waiting until much later [to get word of renewal or cancellation]. I love working on this show, and we have a really great cast and crew, and we've got a good thing going. It's nice."

And it appears next year "Eureka" will take a page from the book of Whedon and bring us a musical episode.

"We're doing a musical episode—well, a two-part musical episode—next season," she said. "That will be very, very, very interesting. I have no idea what that will be about. I suppose the network and the writers feel comfortable with the fact that the cast can sing."

Laughing, Cerra added, "I know that Joe Morton has an amazing [voice]. I've heard Salli [Richardson-Whitfield] sing. Colin [Ferguson] has a fun voice. Niall [Matter], I don't think, can sing. And I don't sing. I can't, and I don't, so I'm going to have to take some singing lessons. I'm a little nervous. It's a little bit of pressure for people who don't, but I know that everyone's excited."

That is fantastic news.  Eureka is definitely one of my favorites.  I didn't think the final episode of the 3rd season was last friday though.   I thought this friday was a viewers choice marathon then next friday was "all new".

This seems off as the final hasn't aired yet.

Also has anyone notices the the woman playing Tess is also a lead in Eastwick? Look like we're going to be loosing a character unless Tess can do two shows at once.

Darth Gaos

I was wondering the same thing as well.....t'would be a shame because I like Tess.....so does Jack.

I like Jack with Allison. I'm still upset that they lost their marriage and their kid. I'd love to see them back together.

:confused

Huh? I'm pretty sure Jack and Allison were never officially together before Nathan Stark came back into her life. And it was her son, no relation to Jack. Right?
