Thanks...by far both of the biggest laughs in my screening were generated by the Hulk
When he pops Thor as an afterthought and when he beats the everloving crap out of Loki.  I'm not quite sure how I feel about Hulk understanding the difference between a god and a human as well as being able to articulate it, but only a small quibble.
The answer is simple.
The hulk is still Banner. He knows what Banner knows and it's totally within the context of the character to understand. Also, had he done the same to a human, it would be a stain on the concrete after the first slam.

I don't recall asking a question.  It's just an interesting choice that I'm not sure I agree with, in my opinion, to have the first line the Hulk says in three films imply an advanced level of cognitive understanding of cosmological significance, just to get a laugh.  It's an hilarious scene that stands on its own, considering many couldn't even hear it.
You already knew that, right? But wait, there's more — a theme park attraction!

Great movie.  The audience reaction was astounding.
I think he punched Thor because he was perturbed, he couldn't pick up Thors hammer.
I saw it this afternoon and it was an awesome movie!

I'm happy to report that my Mom and Nephew both loved the movie. And of course the wife and I enjoyed all over again. I asked my nephew as we were leaving I said from 1 to 10 I rate it a 12! What do you rate it and he said 13! If there wasn't some great looking movies starting to come out on the 18th I would probably go see this again in Imax or something. But Battleship this weekend and MIB 3 next weekend.
It was Puny god that the Hulk said after smashing him on the floor. LOL Also my nephew said something interestng about Hulk punching Thor. He said "revenge is sweet." On the helicarrier Thor smashed into Hulk when he started toward Black Widow. So I can see where that would fit. Some of my favorite parts are all the Hulk parts,  & when Cap jumps on the car where the cops are wondering what to do and Cap gives them orders and they are like "Who are you to give us orders" and Cap takes out 3 aliens so the cop starts giving the orders Cap just gave him! Also the part where Stark is thrown off his building and his suit flies to him. How awesome was that!!
Over a billion dollars in revenue reported:

However it stacks up historically, that's a whole lot of tickets sold!

Looks like a 10 disc Blu-Ray set of Marvel films is coming to celebrate the Avengers success!  Very tempting to buy this one.

Still doing incredible business in theaters, Marvel's The Avengers is on its way to DVD and Blu-ray later this year. Though an official date is still unconfirmed, an interesting tease has shown up Amazon for something called the "Marvel Cinematic Universe: Phase One - Avengers Assembled" Blu-ray collection. The tentative list of content for the ten-disc set reads as follows:

• Marvel's The Avengers (Blu-ray 3D and Blu-ray)
• Captain America: The First Avenger (Blu-ray 3D and Blu-ray)
• Thor (Blu-ray 3D and Blu-ray)
• Iron Man 2 (Blu-ray)
• The Incredible Hulk (Blu-ray)
• Iron Man (Blu-ray)
• Bonus Disc - "The Phase One Archives" (Blu-ray)
• Collectible packaging with exclusive memorabilia from the Marvel Cinematic Universe

The listing also includes the below image, which hints that the set might mimic the briefcase that Samuel L. Jackson's Nick Fury uses to transport the Cosmic Cube. Whatever is under the S.H.I.E.L.D. cloth, though, is said to be revealed on July 15th.

After seeing the movie the first time I told the wife that I was going to buy the "Super Duper" version when it came out. This isn't what I was thinking about, but WOW! I already have all the movies except Iron Man 2 so I doubt I would end up getting this. Of course if the price is right I could change my mind.

jedijeff

Wow, that is quite the set, will be interested to see what the cost is when it comes out, as I might be interested.

Ktrek

Not gonna double dip. I already own all the films except for Avengers and that's one I wouldn't mind having a special edition version but I'll probably just settle for the regular. I rarely ever actually watch the special features on discs more than once anyway.

I haven't bought the Blu-Rays of most of these yet, so I'll likely be buying this mega-set.  :)
