New podcast is up for the week now.  This week I cover "The Alternative Factor" from season one of classic Trek.  I also cover recent genre topics, cancelling good shows before their time, and much more.  Enjoy the podcast!

I remember this one from when I was a kid.  Haven't seen it since then.  I'll enjoy this cast.

Good show, nice to get back to TOS basics.

The Alternative Factor had always seemed to be one of those odd-duck sort of episodes that I'd like to see revised.

- In my version, the alternate universe mad Lazarus spoke of would be a little more complicated when a stolen Starfury is discovered on the planet's surface.

Upon examining it, Kirk crosses the boundary and comes face to face with the 'anti-Lazarus'  who turns out to be Babylon 5's Zathras.

Poor Zathras is a better match to counter mad Lazarus for all time with equal looniness. :)

This is a rare season 1 TOS episode that was kinda crummy. But, it's still better than most of season 3.

Yep.  And I go into quite a bit of background about how it turned out the way it did on the podcast.  Still has some good moments in it too.

Great podcast, Rico!  I really liked the behind the scene extras.  Definitely going to buy These are the Voyages.  :)

I have just finished reading "These are the Voyages" cover to cover and have pre-ordered Season Two! It's a great book.

Great Podcast Rico, felt like it was a bit old school, with a clip show and Classic Trek. I have to say, given all the faults of this episode, it was always one of my favorites. I think I just liked the concept of the story, plus I found all the continuity errors and confusing plot sort of make it unique.

Thanks for the comments everyone.  I liked how this podcast came together.  Always fun to cover classic Trek!

I just listend to the ep today.  I always thought of it as a cool ep of the series.  When I first watched it, I kept thinking that I seen Lazarus before, Robert Brown had played in a TV show called Primus back in the early 70's.  Not a sci-fi show per-se but a techo thriller. He played a scuba diver who had his own mini sub and did some kind of salving work.  I have not seen it in a long time nor have I seen it shown any where on TV in the present day.
I am going with the best information that I have.
