This week gust host Mark (M-5 here on the forum) takes us on a "Journey to the Far Side of the Sun"  He covers this classic Sci-Fi film from 1969 with music, clips, and lots of cool info.  This is a really cool movie and Mark does a great job with the show.  Thanks Mark and everyone enjoy this week's podcast.

I just listen to the podcast last night.  great podcast M-5.  I have seen this movie once or twice over the years. it is a great movie.  I loved the special effects and the movie score.  I love the score for the main title, very orchestral and sci-fi with the Tremain music at the same time.  I have always wondered about about the ending.  did the head of euro sec cause the crash of the doppergagger or was it just an accident?
I am going with the best information that I have.

Cool blast from the past M-5!
My best friend way back in grade school told be about this cool movie.
2001: A Space Odyssey had been out and we we're excited to see more.

The mirror Earth was such a surprise and it's funny that even today I recall a question asked on a science show if there may be a planet in orbit opposite of our own.

The answer given was with todays space probes we know for certain there isn't. ;)

Loved the podcast. I haven't heard of this one, so now I'll have to track it down. I'm a big fan of classic SF.

Great podcast Mark, finally got to listen today and you brought loads of memories back. I was always scared of this film, it's like a dream. You know what the room is but something is not quite right like the switch being on the opposite side eye.
Great music and samples, brilliant podcast :)

Really enjoyed the cast Mark, thanks!  I remember seeing this one on TV back in the early 70's.  I'll have to dig it up again for another watch.

Thank you for those kind words.

One thing I noticed was how much the music reminded of what Barry Gray did for "Space: 1999."  Very similar stuff.

Thanks for mentioning that. I knew I'd missed something in my comment and that similarity was what struck me throughout the clips played.
