This new monster/robot film from Guillermo del Toro is due out next July.  Some interesting viral video's have been popping up from this film.  Looks like fun.

Synopsis:
n the film, legions of monstrous creatures, known as Kaiju, start rising from the sea and begin a war that would takes millions of lives and consumes humanity's resources for years on end. To combat the giant Kaiju, a special type of weapon was devised: massive robots, called Jaegers, which are controlled simultaneously by two pilots whose minds are locked in a neural bridge. But even the Jaegers are proving nearly defenseless in the face of the relentless Kaiju. On the verge of defeat, the forces defending mankind have no choice but to turn to two unlikely heroes-a washed up former pilot (Hunnam) and an untested trainee (Kikuchi)-who are teamed to drive a legendary but seemingly obsolete Jaeger from the past. Together, they stand as mankind's last hope against the mounting apocalypse.

Pacific Rim stars Charlie Hunnam, Rinko Kikuchi, Idris Elba, Ron Perlman, and Charlie Day and is set to be released in 2D and 3D on July 12, 2013.

it's so funny that you just posted this Rico.. I was thinking to myself yesterday when I was catching up here that there wasn't a thread for this movie yet.

Looks awesome..

Looks good and I'm a big fan of Ron Perlman.

The Plot sounds kind of like 'Real Steel'.

I actually think this looks like it might be fun if the story is as good as the special effects look to be. Could turn out to be a lame Transforrners VS Godzilla knock off though. I'll wait for the reviews to come in before making plans to see it.

Some cool posters popping up for this.  Kind of has a "Starship Troopers" vibe to some of the marketing campaign.
