I wonder if they'll do a new musical score. They can't change the main theme, I would think, but it would be interesting to see what they do.
I know it makes me seem mean, but I kind of hope they don't have Leia and Han's children. I'm not a big fan of kids in SF movies.
Actually, I want all new people with no relation to the central cast beyond a mention or a run-in. I think the universe is big enough to do some new stuff.

If the story centers on the next generation of Solos & Skywalkers, I'm pretty sure they'll be 20-somethings.

I like Rico's idea of filming all 3 now - and timing the release.  They could even get John Williams if they play it that way.

Definitely going to be older kids in the movie, if that's part of the story - at least late teenagers.

Looks like JJ Abrams is not interested - which makes sense since he has another "Star..." set of films to work on.

Lawrence Kasdan and Simon Kinberg have been hired to write Episodes 8 and 9, not sure what the division of labor will be. Kasdan of course wrote Empire Strikes Back, Jedi, and Raiders. Kinberg is writing the new X-Men movie and was a producer on X-Men First class. Kasdan!!

I had heard that and sort of dismissed him being in the running, I am hoping for Joe Johnson, but then this showed up over at the RPF today:
