Trek mid-summer mini series.

When I was a kid I liked the movie of the week fillers produced before the new fall network programming.
Would Star Trek work as a few made for TV movies? Could it be one story arc or an anthology of say 5 movies?

I figure this would be a nice middle ground between the single action-adventure movie and the slow moving series

Plus a network could test the waters while still being uncommitted to a first year series.

Even on a limited budget, they could further explore Vulcan / Romulan reunification, look into the far future of what may be.

I'm ready for a little time-travel with Gary Seven pursued by Section 31.. think of the possibilities :)
