I like them and the production values are fantastic but I'm of the feeling that if they did this with a ship other than the Enterprise it would make an awesome TOS era show. We wouldnt be worrying about comparing them to the original crew etc...

That's a big part of it for me, Dan. I appreciate the quality of whta they put together, but the characterizations just don't work and I can't let it go.
