Help wanted, script writer.

Just heard Morgan Freeman interviewed about his movie adaptation of Arthur C. Clarke's 'Rendezvous with Rama'
He wants to play the Starship Captain in this project.

"We're still pushing for 'Rendezvous With Rama.' That's a got-to-be-done movie. Just have to figure out how to do it. I've been trying for -- I don't know -- 15 years now to get a script."

The story is set in the 22nd century. A thirty-mile-long cylindrical starship is detected traveling on a course to pass through our solar system. A group of human explorers are selected and dispatched to intercept the ship in an attempt to discover it's purpose, ascertain if there is any threat to Earth, and answer the mysterious questions regarding it's origins and purpose.

A short student film project based on the book

Coming hard on the heels of "2001: A Space Odessey", "Rendezvous With Rama" is widely regarded as one of Clarke's best works, and is often cited as a quintessential example of "hard" science fiction.

This is one of my favorite stories.  I am a real ACC fan - and have read most of his works.  I will be cautiously optimistic about this - it is very thoughtful Sci-Fi - so I hope it won't turn into a slasher.

One of my favorites too.  Hollywood has been trying to make this into a film for literally decades.  I hope we finally get something and it's good too.

Doesn't get much better than Arthur C. Clarke, and Rama is a real classic. Hope they can do it justice if it ever happens.

Read this book a long time ago, and I hope they will be able to make this into a movie. And Morgan Freeman is a great actor. If he wanted to be in my movie I don't think I would have to think about it very long.
