Yeah, not me. (Don't pass out everyone) but I think I'm done with the iPhones. We bought the 3Gs, then the 4. BOTH begain screwing up and slowing down, erroring, freezing, glitching, you name it, after a year. In fact, now our iPhone 4 barely operate! The email programs take FOREVER to open/load. So nope, done with "smart phones" at least for now. Besides, I'm getting old. Eyes are shot, hard to type on that TINY screen! I'll stick with the iPad for any mobile surfing I do!! :)

Al, you tried wiping it and restoring from backup? Ironically, iPhones sometimes benefit from being treated as Windows PCs :)

LOL Dan, yes actually I did. And it worked for a short time, then back to nothing. I even deleted out a bunch of apps and still...

Factory reset Al? My 4 has a issue with the sound coming out of the bottom speaker, full blast i can just about hear it. I'm interested about the 5 and I have seen that video knocking about but the trouble is for me i don't think i can spend the money on the monthly contract rate. MY own contract comes up for renewal in two days time though lol

Al you might find you'll get better performance with a downgrade to an earlier version of iOS. I'm still on the 3GS and it's slow as dirt but still tolerable.  I'm itching for an upgrade.

You know, that's what I was thinking too. What gets me is they keep coming out with better and better OS's but the older hardware can't handle them. So, why not keep improving little bit at a time? Ensure company success that way. Remember, I do LOVE Apple but this stuff is frustrating. I'm all for great improvements but price point people. If you're going to out date your own hardware EVERY year....make it at least accessible. Eventually slobs like me can't afford to keep up. Oh well...my issue :)

I hear that Meds! I'd love to buy the new stuff every year but man. And the bloody data rate plans! We're paying $30 x 2 for our iPhone data plans, and because we opted for the Wi-Fi only iPads, we each have a personal Mi-Fi device that sets up back $50 EACH per month for 5 gig each. Phew! Somethings going to give...

At least they aren't calling it "The new iPhone" :)

Dangelus

It's going to be called "The Phone" then Apple will demand all other devices calling themselves a "phone" are banned. ;)

They gave away the name last week in the announcement for the event today. They had the number 12 (Spet. 12th) in the shadow was the number 5.

Bromptonboy

Any one else watching the feeds on the announcements?
