yesterday in class we were watching LOTR, and when gandalf said "YOU SHALL NOT PASS!" i did a jedi mind thing and said "i shall pass..." :biggrin
Hrm, very interesting use of state education dollars.  What's next on the syllabus, Rambo 101?
well, most of the time the movies are documentaries, but once in a while we'll watch something like LOTR or national treasure 2. when we do it's very funny to watch the kids who have seen it before narrate everything XD

That's pretty cool actually.  We all read "The Hobbit" in 6th grade social studies so I guess there's that connection.  I loved it so much I arranged a live dramatization of the "Riddles in the Dark" chapter with another kid and performed it in front of the class (I was Gollum).  That sparked a lifelong love of fantasy literature in me, so I won't ever say school can't teach you something worthwhile!
