This was kind of shocking news! I loved his work on Stargate and Stargate Atlantis. I bought his CDs when he released them of Ark of Truth and also Continuum. I'm lucky enough to have signed copies. He will be missed.

Damn, so young to go. I love all of his scores.

Just a correction, it's Joel Goldsmith not Jerry that just passed away.  His dad (Jerry) died back in 2004.

Yeah, I saw this post headline and though it was really old an someone had bumped it. Still very sad for his son, so young.

Yes I initially thought this was Jerry but then realized. Sad all the same, especially since he was so young.

I'll edit KTrek's first post to fix the name.

Johnathan Frankes just tweeted this:

Quote#Joel Goldsmith RIP. he wrote some beautiful cues for #insurrection with his brilliant father #Jerry goldsmith

:( Geez, we are losing some great composers these days. This is tragic. RIP.

Aak! I knew it was Joel and still titled it wrong. I was rushing out the door to work. That's my excuse and I'm sticking with it.   :o

so very sad.  I love some of his music.  So rich and deep.  I think insurrection is one of the best movie scores ever!

I have been and always will be, your friend.
