I know, you can tell how frustrated I was having that name escape right when I needed it! So much so that I meant ot deleve into a brief description of the book and how it differed in some repspects from the screenplay but got totally sidetracked! In the novel, the ALIEN design hadn't been fleshed out sufficiently for Foster to really describe it's look or how it killed the crew. It's interesting to read the novel and then compare it to the film.

I just did that with Dr. No.

I downloaded the Ian Fleming audiobook from audible, then as a joke I watched the 1962 Sean Connery version. Wow, what a difference bewteen film and book!

Fantastic podcast chaps, really enjoyed the film break down and the trivia. You both really made me want to go back and watch this film. Seriously i cant wait for your coverage of Aliens.

Yes, we'll worth a listen. It works as well from the dynamic between the two of you as it does for the subject matter.

It's years since I've seen any of the Alien films (although the unmentionable one I've never seen was on TV last night). Very good background information coverage there guys.

Congratulations, great podcast, guys. Just got through listening to it. Bryan, you're a natural (Al, you're definitely really cool too :) ).

"Alien" is such a textbook horror movie. Film school fodder. I remember seeing it in the theater and being on the edge of my seat. What was scary was the mystery of the creature. What I couldn't see scared the crap out of me.

I've usually watched "Aliens" over the years, but I need to go revisit the movie that started it all.
