Nice day for a walk, cool and overcast.

This old Stage Coach Road winds down the canyon to the river below.

A side trail off the main road leads to parts unknown.

I half expected to see a fellowship of Hobbits led by a wizard on this remote path.

Looking down at the river you see three bridges.

A 100 year old Rail Road Bridge.

Looking up - you see the fork in the canyon where two rivers combine.
South Fork on the Right. The North Fork on the left is bridged by one of the tallest Bridges - it was used in the movie 'Triiple X'.

Time to head back, it's all uphill from here.

that looks like a great place for a hike.  How long is the trail?

this link shows 2 cars parked side by side at the trailhead.
Scroll to the right and you see the dirt road snaking down through the trees to the river.
At least a mile or two to the bottom. This recreation area is crisscrossed with hiking, biking trails.

The two newer bridges where washed out by floods in the '60s.

This canyon was going to be damed at one time, that's the reason for the big bridge.

Beautiful countryside. I need to get out and hike more. I miss it.
