What Charlie Jade really needs is a US DVD release. I've been wanting to have this show in my DVD collection forever. Maybe there is hope for that now that it's available on Netflix and Hulu.

We've exchanged emails with show runner Robert Wertheimer on several occasions and he thinks a US (aka region 1) DVD release is highly unlikely.   He'd love to see it happen but based on where the rights are at it doesn't look like it will happen.

Right now the only option it to purchase the full series set from Amazon.co.uk...

I've bought a few copies from them over the years to give to friends.  Including shipping to the US it comes out to about $30.

The nice thing about the set is that it's "region free".  It's still PAL format as opposed to NTSC which is what region 1 DVDs sets are setup for so it won't play on a traditional US DVD player.  However, I've found that many US Blu-ray players can play these DVDs so if you already have a US Blu-ray player you may be able to play the DVDs.

Before I had a Blu-ray player I had converted the DVDs to the US format using a couple of inexpensive programs.  You really want to make sure you watch these in top quality formats or you miss much of the experience.

Watched te pilot last night. Definately a lot going on but I like the premise and the sort of "noir" feel of the show. I'll keep watching.

I don't have a Blu-Ray player, fact I don't even have a DVD player or a TV at the moment. Once I get an apartment on my own I figure I can start thinking about that sort of stuff. I have the whole series burned onto DVDs for now. It worked for the time being.
