I've heard the Harry Potter films will be pulled off the market at some point - like Disney does.  Is this true and if it is, when will this happen?  Kenny??

According to what I read it will happen at the end of this year, December 29, with no more copies shipped to stores and all unsold copies being pulled from shelves.  The article I read said this will not affect digital downloads of the films and obviously does not preclude future copies, special editions, bare bones editions, director's cuts, boxed sets, omnibus sets, magna cum laude editions, etc etc from being released in the future.

Have they released all those expanded edition sets for each film yet?  I don't see why they are stopping this so soon.  I mean the last film just came out over the summer.

I think they are doing it because of the time that the other movies have been on the market. 10 years is a long time to be on the market for the first one. Also, by taking them off the market, they don't have to price them lower when those special editions do come out.

Disney's been doing this for years with their films. It creates a high demand for when they do the re-releases and makes the not-so-special editions seem that much more appealing.

It just seems a bit too soon to me.  Especially with the last movie.
