I haven't seen anything on the Forum on this topic so here goes.  From February 2010 copy of Sci-Fi magazine (yes, I flashed forward), page 8

There's no two ways about it: Star Wreck, a new motion picture released on DVD just in time for holiday gift-giving, may simultaneously be the best - and the worst - Finnish sci-fi movie in history.  Okay, the fact that it's one of only a handful of science-fiction adventures ever filmed in Finland may play a role in that distinction, but this Star Trek meets Babylon 5 "mash-up" is both mildly amusing and, at times, dreadfully boring.

In the full-length, fan-produced film, which was originally available via the Internet and reportedly took seven years to complete, captain James B. Pirk of the starship C.P.P. Kicstart must save Earth from hostile aliens.  Along the way he engages in various skirmishes, including taking on Captain Sherrypie of Babel 13.  The laughs don't always translate within the subtitles (or perhaps the folks in Finland just have an odd sense of humor), but diehard fans of both franchises will likely enjoy Star Wreck from start to ... ahem ... Finnish.

Anyone seen this?

I've seen it, I liked it.

The things about the humor are true, and it's not what you would expect from a Star Trek movie. The quality (of filming, effects, story, humor) is sometimes good and sometimes bad, but I showed it to my not so geeky SO and he didn't run away in horror.

Let's say it this way: I don't want the 90(?) minutes of my life back from watching it, but it's a C-Film at best. Consuming lots of alcoholic beverages (or whatever produces the same effect in your species) might improve viewing pleasure. ;)

When you watch the trailer, pay attention to the humor bits toward the end - much more in the movie.
