Yeah, when I got this, I was stoked to go. It's not every decade that you can see Oz in the movies ... I'm still curious of what they mean by hi-def, but I think it's worth it since it doesn't cost anything extra than a standard ticket.

By hi-def I think they are referring to the remastered version used for the upcoming Blu-Ray release shown on a digital DLP projector. The image quality should be pretty good and I would imagine the colors will be amazing! I only wish it was not on a Wednesday evening because I would have gone, but unfortunately other commitments take precedent.

My seven year old daughter would love to see this movie (Me too! :)).

If it were on over here I could be tempted to take the kids. It's a film we've all seen so many times but never on the big screen.

Enjoy it if you get to go :)

I know it's unnusual here but I don't have a podcast of my own.

I've seen it in theaters a couple of times over the years.  Even though I have seen this movie many times, something about the experience seeing it in the theater that makes it even more magical.

I agree Rico! Especially if there are a lot of kids in the audience to experience it with. That makes it even more special IMHO!

We have a small independent theater in our town (as well as the mega theaters) - and they often show older movies to a packed house.  We recently saw Casablanca on the big screen there - and it was great.
A few months ago, they showed 'Jason And The Argonauts'!  The kids loved that one!

One of my dreams would be to have a small old movie theater and show stuff like that.  There actually is one that closed a few years ago near me that is sitting there wasting away.  Such a shame.

Yes, we are lucky to have this art-house theater.  We sponsor it with donations each year.  You have to have the right kind of environment to support something like that.  I enjoy blockbusters at the mega complex, but there is something great about a small theater that shows independents, and quirky stuff.  It is surrounded by some great restaurants in the center of town, and a great evening out for 'date night' with the wife.  :)

I wish.  I'd definitely go for it if I had the funds, but right now isn't the time.  Perhaps someday in the future once the kids are done with college.

P.S.  Mark - we need to still go see Oz on Wednesday!

Myself and three other people were very close to putting a bid in to buy a old cinema. We figured out we could afford it but then someone else got in there. Thankfully they have made it look like it did in the 20.s and show classic as well as new films. We feel very happy that the people who purchased the cinema had the same passion as we did plus they had more money and better business sense than us lol.
