What????? We have to wait until January for the final episodes? I thought maybe September, especially as they are already made. I'm gonna sulk now...Big Time...

At least until January.  This has been commented on and discussed for awhile.  The Sci-Fi channel talked like this months ago about splitting the season up big time.  Silly, silly idea.  Way too long between season halves.

At least will get webisodes.. which are always cool... and just so everyone knows they just finished shotting the final episodes of the season and now they are in post with it. Though I agree that Jan of next year is far too long of a wait.. they are still working on finishing them and they are not just sitting around on a shelf waiting to air.

Rico

Yeah, they wrapped shooting the last episode about 10 days ago or so.  But several of the episodes are completed.  They could easily air them starting this Fall.  But of course that's a network decision it seems.  Do we know when the web episodes begin?

New Battlestar movie confirmed

It's official. "Battlestar Galactica" will live on when the series finishes it's run early next year.

Well, at least for two more hours.

SciFi confirmed yesterday that the long-discussed two-hour "Battlestar Galactica" movie has been picked up and will air sometime after the series finale.  The movie will be simliar to last year's "Razor" and be a flashback, taking place during the series run.

As previously reported, we can now confirm that series writer Jane Espenson is writing the script and that actor Edward James Olmos will direct.  For the first time, we have some new details on what the film will be about.  According to the Los Angeles Times, the movie will document the Cylons' attempts — those of two agents in particular — to grapple with human survivors, both those aboard ships and those left alive on planets, shortly after the Cylons' destruction of human home worlds.

Confirmed for the cast are Michael Trucco, Dean Stockwell and Aaron Douglas.   Filming is set to begin immediately in Vancouver.

'Battlestar' Movie Begins Filming Monday

By MICHAEL HINMAN
Source: Chicago Tribune
Sep-04-2008

Edward James Olmos returns to the director's chair on Monday as the second "Battlestar Galactica" telemovie written by Jane Espenson moves in front of the camera.

It's already been reported that it will feature Aaron Douglas as Galen Tyrol, Michael Trucco as Sam Anders and Dean Stockwell as Brother Cavil, but the Chicago Tribune's Maureen Ryan has a few more names to add to the mix.

Also expected to appear in the telemovie are Tricia Helfer as Number Six, Grace Park as Boomer, Rick Worthy as Simon, Matthew Bennett as Doral and Callum Keith Rennie as Leoben. Also expected to make a smaller appearance are Michael Hogan as Saul Tigh and Rekha Sharma as Tory Foster.

"It's a bit of a bummer to learn that Saul Tight, perhaps the how's most compelling Cylon, doesn't have a big role in the new film, which will air some time after the show's [series] finale," Ryan wrote. "Ah well, I'll just nurture a (probably futile) hope that one day there will be a third 'Battlestar' movie, and that it's Saul Tigh's Tigh-lon adventure."

Ryan also touched on "Caprica," which seems to have stalled in terms of getting a series pickup. Despite the fact that SciFi Channel has ordered some additional scripts, SciFi hasn't committed to the show anywhere beyond a backdoor pilot that had already been filmed just yet. In fact, Mark Verheiden who wrote a script for Caprica, is now doing some work on "Heroes." But there's nothing to say that he couldn't work on two series simultaneously.

"Caprica" creator Ronald D. Moore said a decision on whether or not to give "Caprica" a pickup should happen "in the next few weeks," suggesting that SciFi is not going to wait until the telemovie to air before deciding the show's fate.

Whether that's a good sign or a bad ... we'll have to wait and see.

"Battlestar Galactica" returns for its final episodic run in January.

I hope they don't give the show the axe before it gets started.

Hmmm the entire cast is made of up Cylons.. except Adama... did they just give away who the fifth Cylon is???

Darth Gaos

LOL Kenny....if that turns out to be the case.....what a completely inane accidental way to give away one of the most highly anticipated secrets in Sci-Fi.

I personally am hoping it just has to do with the fact that some portion will take place on Galactica.  I am also hoping that this is a bit of a "origins" film for the FInal Five.
