Just put up Attic of my Mind #6.  Kind of a nostalgia type show.  Hope you like it.

I know what you mean.  This is going to be a getting back on the horse Christmas for us.  It’s like we are totally starting over.  This is totally nothing like when I was a kid.

I just graduated from college.  I was living with my grandparents at the time.  And on December 13 of last year, my grandmother passed away.  She had been fighting an illness that we thought she would beat.  But the doctor gave us a little over a week’s notice that she wasn’t going to make it.  Even worse, my grandfather wasn’t well.  The summer before the doc told him to enjoy this Christmas because it would be his last.  So even though it was extremely hard we kept going like we always did and had Christmas Eve dinner at his house and tried to go on like we always had.  At the end of it, I found myself in the bathroom crying because I knew that we had celebrated our last Christmas with him.  Then one month later, I went in his room to see why he hadn’t gotten up and he was gone.

We’ve all had a tough year to heal and we are trying to decide on a new tradition.  It had always been Christmas Eve, with Mom’s parents, Christmas Morning, with my parents, and Christmas Day, with Dad’s mother and my aunts, uncles on that side of the family.

We’ve put a tree up this year, an activity we skipped last year and are getting ready to make plans for how to celebrate this year.  I had one idea that my family hated: to go caroling in Bethany Oklahoma, where it is illegal!  I honestly don’t know how we should do it this time around.

Great cast Rico, I really enjoyed, especially the journey back in time with the intro song.  Life in a northern town....

wow, used to play that on the radio when I was a DJ.  Cool.

I have been and always will be, your friend.
