I know that Microsoft is evil and Apple is great, but I was thinking of picking up a Zune.

I've got a 60gb iPod, but my wife is jealous and wants her own MP3 player.  I thought I'd try out the competition.

Does anyone here have any first-hand experience with the Zune?  If so, what do you think of it?

Rico

I don't know anyone with one yet.  Sorry.  But if you get one then I will know someone with one.  ;)

I know it comes in Brown! :)

Wait a few more weeks and get the new touch interface widescreen iPod. That redesign is coming very soon.

If You do get a Zune, I would be interested to hear your experiences with it.I have an iPod and I have generally been happy with it, but my wife has also been talking about a new MP3 player, so just thinking about what the competition provides.

That'll be cool, Bryan, and maybe I'll replace my first iPod with that in a year or two.

But I'm not looking to get a high-end model.  I found a bundle of a 30gb Zune, docking station, car charger/transmitter for under $200.   A widescreen iPod will likely be double that.

I have worked with a Zune.  My good friend Kathy has one.  I would not reccomend it.  Get her another ipod, a different color and just set her up with itunes on her own desktop.  That's what I did with my wife.  She loves it and we can share all of our music and audio files.  It's pretty slick.

The Zune is really limited in my opinion and a much more cheap feeling unit, it isn't compatible with itunes stuff and a real hassle.  She doesn't use it as much as I do my ipod, and my wife LOVES her ipod as well.

Just my opinion.

Love,

Rick

I have been and always will be, your friend.
