Ouch, tracking for a $27.8 million opening weekend. Although I thought it looks like fun, the marketing for the film has been all over the place. Is it Lord of the Rings/Hobbit or Escape to Narnia? They marketed it towards kids but got a PG-13 rating and reviews say it's not intense enough to draw in the teen/young male audience. So it's in marketing limbo and being compared to John Carter. I also heard complaints about the quality of the CGI, how did it look to you guys?

I just wanted to see Ewan, haven't seen him in anything since ROTS it seems!

Ewan was fantastic in "the Impossible". An extremely moving performance, even though Naomi Watts got all the acclaim.

Bad news for Warners and this movie, reports are box office is expected to top out at 65 million and the budget all told was around 300 million including marketing
