Hey, remember those annoying unskippable anti-piracy ads in your DVDs/Blu-Rays that you can't skip and actual pirates never see?  Well the government believes they are so successful, they're adding EVEN MORE that are unskippable.

They are targeting these ads at paying customers making them irrelevant because like you say the people they are trying to reach don't watch them.

How about instead they put in a little skit THANKING you for purchasing a legit disc?

Actually depending on your type of disc player, they are sometimes skippable.  It takes a combination of key strokes on your remote usually.  Google around and you will find possible solutions.  Here's a common method to skip things:

A remote-control trick to skip past those annoying ads: simply press the Stop button twice, and then Play. So, Stop, Stop, Play.

And if that doesn't work at least the main character in the movie gets infinite lives! ;)

LOL @ Konami Code

I swear who ever makes decisions about forcing those warnings on disks are *so* out of touch.
