Real question is who is going to buy Research in Motion. That will be very interesting.

I think the real question is whether anyone wants to ;).

(yes, yes, I know they have lucrative business deals and etc).

I thought this purchase happened months ago?

The announcement happened months ago, there's a lot of red tape to go through before deals like this actually happen.

Might get a decent Google TV MkII with a Motorola build :)

It will certainly be interesting to see how this all plays out over the next year or so. I guess that'll need some integration time since the two compnies appear to be quite different in ethos.

I know it's unnusual here but I don't have a podcast of my own.

That purchase will have a lot to do with Motorola patents no doubt!

Yes, Google is trying to get into the handset hardware business. They see it as they only way they can compete with Apple and the iOS world.

I thought it was more to fend off the patent lawsuits for Android more than anything else.

That's part of it but Google needs to have more control over the devices which run their OS.

Absolutely. The way things go together at the moment must be a nightmare for them. Still, I'm still impressed at the way Android has grown into the market from a standing start.
