So while going through another organize-my-download-folder, I decided to go look up what new Gadgets were available for Windows.  (You know, those little widgets for the desktop)  I was greeted with a screen that only shows the "top gadgets" and a message saying that in order to focus on Windows 8, they were no longer allowing uploads of new gadgets.

I...really don't know how I should feel about this.  (Stunning, I know ;))  Anyone use these?  I use a clock, weather and system watching gadgets.  I'm actually wondering if there is a better program for watching my CPU/Network/Hardrive disk drives' performance/usage.  But uhh yeah, it sure didn't take them long to kill any potential these had...

Thoughts?

What potential was killed? New ones are not being allowed to update on the windows site. There are still other sites to get them if you want them and it makes sense to focus on 8 since it's coming out sometime next year.

I've never used them and I probably never will. I don't like the sidebar and remove it every time.

After having a few years to make gadgets, I'm sure someone has already thought and posted any good ones that you might like.
