This weekends show is up now folks.  I cover "The Corbomite Maneuver" and have some other items to discuss as well.  Really had a good time doing this episode - one of my all time favorites!   :metallica:

Ah!  This should be a good one. Corbormite is one of my favorite episodes.  And they made it so early in the run!

should be good, thanks Rico!

Hey, thanks for using my book review in Treks in Sci Fi #75, Rico.  I've been getting a kick out of contributing to my favorite podcast in the past few shows.  I should have known you'd have that Ellison script in your collection, considering "City" is your favorite ST episode of all time.  I think it is definitely my favorite piece of Star Trek related literature I have ever read.  You said it best when you said you get a flavor from reading the script that is a lot different than seeing the show on the air.  That's definitely true here, more especially so when you consider the caliber and talent of Harlan Ellison as a writer.

I've read quite a bit of Harlan's work over the years.  Amazing stuff.  He writes more what I called speculative fiction, not just sci-fi.  Thanks again Joby for the review, loved having it for the podcast.  Anyone else that would like to contribute something like this, feel free to email it on in to me.  ;)

Hi Rico!

I loved this past week's podcast. It was a great one!

Its probably common knowledge, but I read that in The Corbomite Maneuver, Kirk identifies his ship for the first and last time as the "United Earth Ship Enterprise" rather then the "Federation Star Ship Enterprise". I never noticed that. Did you?

Clint Howard is a great character actor. Did you know he made additional guest appearances on other Star Trek Shows. In the Deep Space Nine episode: "Past Tense", he played a character named Grady, and in Star Trek Enterprise he played Muk in the episode: "Acquisition". I don't recall these particular showsâ€"guess I missed them. Yet another reason I need to start buying the DVD box sets.

I enjoyed your book review Joby.  I'm an avid reader myself and I'm always looking for great reviews. I haven't read the novel you were reviewing but you've peaked my interest. I read quite a few Star Trek novels back in high school yet I've temporarily switched universes...I have been reading Star Wars EU. So far I'd have to say A.C. Crispin is my favorite author from both ST and SW; she's written for both generas.

Well, got to roll...talk to you all later!  :D
