One of these days I'll watch this show.  Or at least try to.

It's really quite good. You just have to get over the effects in the first season or two. B5 was pioneering in CGI but the initial work is a bit...rough.

If that's the CGI effects (according to the video)...I've watched worse.  x_x...oh I've watched worse.  But no, its in my netflix queue (or at least was) but I'm currently finishing up Buffy and Angel.  Once I'm done with those and B5 comes back to Netflix, I'll pick it up probably.  That or watch Star Trek.

I've got to say the effects put me off when this show first aired and I've never watched it because Ive never had the time to catch up on it. I guess at the time I was used to the beautiful models used on TNG a little too much.

I will make time to watch this show properly some day.

The practical sets and the first Commander put me off at first. Once you get into the story, the production values become less significant.

The President Clark/Nightwatch arc was something we came very close to in the early 2000's.

I was actually upset at "Commander Tron" initially :) I like the first guy better. Then again, maybe I was just change-adverse.

Definitely good points about the B5 cast, Darmok. I can't disagree with your points. The actors on B5 were very good. I still think DS9 had a great cast as well with Avery Brooks, Colm Meaney, Rene A., and Alexander Saddig. I did meet Alexander at a small con so maybe I'm a little biased about him.
And those shadow ships were creepy!

My DS9 favorites are Rene Auberjonois, Terry Farrell, Mark Alaimo, Jeffrey Combs and J.G. Hertzler.

What was it like meeting Alexander Siddig?

He was actully filling in for Nana Visitor, his wife at the time, because she was ill. He was very nice and funny. Jason Carter was also there. I got a pic with Jason. But didn't get one with Alexander. He did grab a kid in the row behind us so we got some cool pics of him. I was able to get both there autos as well.

Sweet. A nice memory to carry for a long, long time.
