Highway to Mars

Today I did a new highway to mars on David Brins article with Feathers and moyer777.  Great discussion.  Link is on the Martians Are Here facebook page.

I listened on the way to work this morning (with my heart in my mouth!) and on the whole I think it came over quite well. Did I really say all that? ;)

I'd be interested to hear any other opinions.

This month I was joined again by Mike Featherstone as we discussed the late 70′s early 80′s Science fiction series Blakes 7 and some of the shows that drew inspiration from it. What set's Blakes 7 apart is it's characters, the dark view of a future totalitarian humanity and 'the end' one of the most unique and confronting ways of drawing a story to a close. Once again mike provides a whole bunch of insights and thoughts that mean even I was learning things. Thanks Mike – you realise I will be back for more  :D

Yes, it features me again although the Skype call quality let me down a little bit this time. It's quite long, but cramming the philosophy of a four year TV series into an hours recording was never going to be viable.

I haven't listened to it yet but I will do and I hope some of you do too.

Half way through the Blakes 7 one now.

Wow these are great! In depth just like I like 'em! :)

The second Blakes 7 one was excellent - much better then the one I was in.

If we'd got all three of us on the original 'cast as planned, however, I think it would have been a three hour discussion rather than two.

We finished at midnight as it is.
